What are Raw and
Living Foods?
Raw and Living food is uncooked fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and
sprouted grains. There are also some other foods that fall within
this category, such as seaweeds, raw carob powder, cold pressed
olive oil, even raw milks, cheeses and meats. Although, most people
refer to a plant-based diet when discussing raw foods.
What are the benefits of eating
a living and raw food diet?
Whether you are eating a little or a lot, raw and living foods
provide high-quality nutrition while naturally supporting both
proper digestion and a well-functioning immune system. Eating these
life-giving foods helps to alkalize the body, a key factor in
building excellent health. When the body is in an alkaline state, it
is better able both to absorb nutrients and to expel toxins more
efficiently. Eating Raw and Living Foods is like taking an internal
shower helping to internally cleanse and deodorize your body. Many
people who are eating more raw and living foods state that they
experience better energy and mental clarity as well.
Why is raw and living food
healthier than cooked food?
The Standard American Diet of meat, bread, dairy products,
processed/cooked foods, caffeine, and alcohol creates an acidic
state in the body. An over-acidic environment in your body through
our diet and stressful lifestyles can contribute to a variety of
health problems When food is cooked at high temperatures, many
valuable but fragile vitamins, enzymes, phytochemicals, fats and
proteins are destroyed or altered. The higher the cooking
temperature, the more toxins that are created in our food. Frying
and grilling are especially toxin-generating. In addition, the water
and fiber content of the food is lessened in processed, cooked
foods. By adding fresh-as-possible, preferably organic vegetables,
fruits, seeds, and nuts to your diet, you will be greatly enhancing
the nutritional value of your eating regimen.
